Centauro-class fiscalization boat
The ''Centauro''-class fiscalization boats is a class of patrol boats in service with the Portuguese Navy. It is an evolution of the previous ''Argos''-class, which is why it was previously referred to as ''Argos'' class - 2nd Series. The main difference from the previous ''Argos'' is the naval, corrosion-resistant, aluminium hull.
This class is meant for fisheries fiscalization and control duties mainly in the Mainland Portugal shores – with some sporadic presence in the Madeira Archipelago – up to .
The ''Centauro'' class is Portuguese-designed and built at the Arsenal do Alfeite (Almada) and Estaleiros Navais do Mondego (Figueira da Foz).
In 2007, one boat of this class, the NRP ''Sagitário'', became the first Portuguese warship with a female commander, the second lieutenant Gisela Antunes.
